Frequently Asked Questions
-
Are you currently accepting new clients?
Yes! I am currently seeking new clients who reside in Colorado or Nebraska.
-
Do you see clients in-person or virtually?
Both! I offer the flexibility of virtual appointments and also see clients in-person on Fridays in my Fort Collins office.
-
Who do you work with?
I work with adults and teens from a variety of backgrounds. I specialize in grief, women's issues, relationship issues, as well as in
supporting graduate/professional students. I also see clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, difficulties with life transitions, and other issues.

What's it like being in session with you? People often tell me it's easy for them to open up to me. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people and strive to make the therapy experience positive, even through difficult times and hard work. I often laugh along with my clients, sometimes I cry. I offer a non- judgmental space and will meet you where you're at; my goal is to allow you to feel comfortable enough to show up just as you are.
-
How often will we meet and how long are sessions?
Sessions are 50 minutes. Most clients have weekly appointments initially and may transition to bi-weekly or monthly appointments once they feel they are in the "maintenance" phase. Frequency is really up to you.
-
What are your fees? Do you have a sliding fee scale?
My current fee is $140 per session. I have several spots in my practice for clients who cannot afford my full fee, but at this time, all sliding scale spots are filled. Although I am no longer accepting insurance, I encourage you to look into your out-of-network benefits, as some plans will reimburse you for therapy services, and I am happy to provide you with a Superbill that you can submit to insurance.
-
Why are you no longer accepting insurance?
Unfortunately accepting insurance in not a viable option for many therapists. Limitations on the type and duration of therapy, low reimbursement rates, denials and clawbacks, and the administration time required to submit and resubmit claims, make it difficult for a therapist to cover the expenses of the profession (education, licensing - which includes 3,360 of clinical work with 96 hours of paid supervision, continuing education, insurance, and other office expenses) and make a livable wage. I whole heartedly believe that mental healthcare must be affordable and accessible, and it is for this reason that I do offer a sliding scale and I am currently working with Mines & Associates EAP and the Second Wind Fund to fulfill this mission.
